Kent 225: Evison 76; Ahmed 4-37 & 230: Muyeye 60; Duffy 4-60
Nottinghamshire (7 pts) beat Kent (3 pts) by 10 wickets
Kent were relegated from County Championship Division One with a 10-wicket defeat by Nottinghamshire - who took a huge step towards safety with victory.
The hosts avoided the ignominy of an innings defeat on day three at Canterbury but, following on, could only set Notts a measly target of 23 that they quickly rattled off.
Kent began day three on 85-0 but lost Tawanda Muyeye (60) early on, the first of four wickets for Jacob Duffy (4-60).
New Zealand seamer Duffy and Rob Lord (3-42) then ran through Kent's middle order, leaving them 134-6.
An eighth-wicket stand of 52 between Joey Evison (42) and Akeem Jordan (32) ensured Notts would have to bat again, but neither could go on to set the visitors a bigger target.
The defeat leaves Kent with just one victory in their 13 County Championship games this season and means they will finish bottom of the table.
Nottinghamshire are now 34 points clear of ninth-placed Lancashire, in the final relegation spot, but the Red Rose county are on course to beat Somerset in their ongoing match.
Notts host Warwickshire in their final game, starting next Thursday, and Lancashire visit Worcestershire.
