Nottinghamshire bowler Calvin Harrison has rejoined Northamptonshire on a short-term loan.

The 27-year-old leg-spinner returns to Wantage Road having taken 30 Championship wickets during previous spells there this season.

Harrison joined Northamptonshire on a two-game deal in April, external, but his initial loan ultimately lasted six Championship matches, and he returned for two further red-ball games in late June.

He played every match for Nottinghamshire in this season's T20 Blast, and also featured in one County Championship Division One game in late July.

Northants, seventh in Division Two, are without India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for the final three games of the season after he returned home early for personal reasons.

They host promotion-chasing Glamorgan on Monday.

Notts' head coach Peter Moores said Harrison has been allowed to return to Northamptonshire due to the resources at his disposal in the spinning department.

Neither club has specified the length of the agreement, although Moores indicated it might not be for the entirety of the remainder of the campaign.

"This latest spell will mean he's ready to perform for us when needed towards the end of the season," Moores added.
