England batter Duckett extends deal with Notts

England top-order batter Ben Duckett has signed an extended contract with Nottinghamshire until the end of the 2027 season.

Duckett has scored more than 5,500 runs in all formats for Notts since joining in August 2018 from Northamptonshire.

His runs have helped the county win the 2020 Vitality Blast final and the County Championship Division Two title two years later.

"It was an absolute no-brainer to extend my time with Nottinghamshire," Duckett told the club website.

"I love playing at Trent Bridge, it's my favourite English ground, and this team and coaching staff are a fantastic group that have been so valuable for my development on and off the field.

"Playing for England has been a dream come true, but the role that Nottinghamshire have played in helping me to achieve that has been crucial."

Duckett has scored four hundreds and 13 half-centuries in 30 Tests for England, and has racked up 10,809 first-class runs in 155 matches.

The 30-year-old, who is in the England squad for this month's one-off Test with Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge, has played once for the County Championship leaders this season.

Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores said: "Though we might not see as much of him as before, he's still a hugely valuable member of our squad.

"It has been a privilege to watch him develop over the years, and his desire to keep improving is a great example to our other players.

"His quality as a three-format player is not in question, and to have that level of player around the group - even when he's not playing - is always a good thing."
