Yorkshire have signed Pakistan batter Abdullah Shafique on a short-term contract.

The right-handed opener will be available for the next two Championship matches, starting against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge on Sunday.

Shafique will also be eligible to play in the last four group games of Yorkshire's T20 Blast campaign.

The 25-year-old averages 38.56 from his 22 Test appearances, with five hundreds to his name.

When he leaves, India batter Ruturaj Gaikwad arrives for Yorkshire's final five Championship games of the season.
