Glamorgan are advertising for a women’s head coach as part of the latest shake-up in domestic cricket.
The Welsh club are due to field a Tier 2 side under the county name in 2025 before moving to the Tier 1 level of the professional game two years later.
Wales has previously been part of the Western Storm region, most of whose players came from south west England.
There has also been a Wales team at county level.
Glamorgan will also appoint an academy head coach in an effort to produce local talent.
Among leading Welsh players, Seren Smale is with Lancashire, Sophia Smale has joined Essex and Alex Griffiths is now at Somerset.

The new county structure will not mean direct changes in the Hundred franchise set-up, which includes Cardiff-based Welsh Fire.
Glamorgan’s advert for the coach’s role stipulates:
"The successful candidate will be a values driven individual with a passion for improving individuals and teams through fostering an inclusive high performance culture both on and off the field.
"The women’s head coach will be able to set out a vision and plan for success and be able to evidence excellent communication skills whilst operating as part of a multi-disciplinary team."
