Somerset seam bowler Jake Ball has signed a new one-year contract, keeping him at the club for the 2026 season.
The 34-year-old spent part of the 2025 season on loan at Durham and Kent but was recalled by his parent club and came back to play an important role, helping Somerset win the T20 Vitality Blast last weekend.
Ball took two wickets in the final against Hampshire at Edgbaston as Somerset picked up their third T20 title.
The right-arm paceman joined Somerset after spending 15 years at home county Nottinghamshire, where he took 423 wickets across all formats, and also went on to play 24 times across all formats for England, including in four Test matches.
"It's an extremely exciting time for the club at the moment. We won the Vitality Blast, did well again in the One Day Cup and are still challenging in the County Championship," Ball told the club website., external
"I want to be playing more County Championship cricket in 2026, so I'll be doing everything I can to push for a place in the red-ball side."
Somerset will conclude their 2025 campaign with a trip to Essex in the County Championship, starting on Wednesday.
