Northamptonshire left-arm wrist-spinner Freddie Heldreich is to leave the county after eight years with the club.

The 24-year-old white-ball specialist came through the academy at Wantage Road and made his debut in a T20 Blast game against Durham in June 2021.

Heldreich took 55 wickets in 55 limited-overs matches for the Steelbacks, including 17 in their Blast campaign two years ago.

But he did not feature for the first team this summer.

"Playing for Northamptonshire has defined the last eight years of my life, from joining the academy to achieving my lifelong dream of playing professional cricket," Heldreich said., external

"I hope this isn't the end of my journey, and hope to have some jousts against Northamptonshire in the future."
