Scorecard

George Munsey finished on 84 not out and Brad Currie took four wickets as Scotland enjoyed a seven-wicket World Cup League 2 win over Canada in Toronto on Sunday.

The hosts lost three wickets in the first two overs and were 18-5 in the 11th before a late recovery led by Shreyas Movva (60) took them to 184 all out.

Scots lost Charlie Tear and Brandon McMullen in the fifth over of their reply but opener Munsey soon got his eye in, hitting seven fours and four sixes as he carried his bat.

Captain Richie Berrington scored 64 to help steer the visitors to 167-3, while debutant Tom Bruce finished a one-sided contest in style, smashing a six to seal victory with more than eight overs to spare.

Defending champions Scotland sit third in the table and meet Namibia on Thursday before another showdown with Canada on Saturday.

"I thought Brad and Josh (Davey) up top were excellent, getting those early wickets was key on what was a tricky surface, so they set the game up really well for us," said Berrington.

"When we lost the two early wickets, it was clear we needed a really important partnership, and George and I were just clear on our game plan. We had to get through a difficult period against the new ball, but it was fantastic to see George get through that and then accelerate towards the end.

"We've played a lot of cricket this summer, but we know these conditions are new to us here, so I thought we adapted really well for this challenge."
