Gibson signs one-year extension with Somerset

All-rounder Dani Gibson has signed a one-year contract extension with Somerset that will keep her at the county through to the end of the 2026 season.

The 24-year-old right hander played in four matches this year for Somerset in her debut season for the county and scored 103 runs with a high score of 50.

In March she was ruled out for the start of the 2025 campaign after suffering a stress fracture in her back.

Gibson made her full international debut in the 2023 Ashes series and has represented England 22 times in T20 cricket.

She has also played for Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash and London Spirit in The Hundred.

"I'm really excited," Gibson said after signing her extension., external

"It was disappointing to miss such a large part of the season but to get out there at the end was great and I'm looking forward to being around the group more next season.

"I was at as many games as possible, and I know that all the girls were loving life at Somerset, everyone's been really welcoming and It's an exciting adventure for everyone.

"In 2026 I want to play more games, wear the Somerset shirt more, get some big scores and take some wickets."
