Arthur signs one-year extension at Derbyshire

Derbyshire head of cricket Mickey Arthur has signed a one-year contract extension until the end of the 2026 season.

Arthur, 56, is combining his role at the County Ground with a stint as director of cricket, external at Hundred franchise Northern Superchargers this summer.

The South African joined Derbyshire ahead of the 2022 campaign having been head coach of South Africa, Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

"Derbyshire is a club I have always had links with but in the last three seasons my love for this club has only grown and I'm pleased to extend my stay, as I feel at home here," Arthur told Derbyshire's website., external

"We have assembled a squad over the last few years with a balance of experience and some exceptional home-grown talent. We believe can compete across all formats and we can't wait for the new season start."

Derbyshire get their County Championship Division Two campaign under way at home to Gloucestershire on 4 April.
