England Under-19s captain Thomas Rew has signed his first professional contract with Somerset.

Rew, who made his debut for the county in the T20 Blast, has signed a deal until October 2027, which will see him continue his education this year.

He said, external: "I'm delighted to be signing this contract with Somerset.

"I've worked hard to achieve this goal over the last few years and I'm very grateful for all the work that Somerset's age group and academy coaches have put into my game since l joined the pathway at Under-10s.

"I look forward to training with the squad and coaches over the winter and then I aim to work hard to earn a first-team place and contribute as much as possible in all three formats."

Rew's older brother James is a regular for Somerset and has already scored 10 first-class hundreds.
