Paul Tweddle will be interim head coach for Somerset's One-Day Cup side this summer for the third time.
Tweddle, who is an assistant coach at Somerset as well as their fielding coach, will step in for Jason Kerr, who will be involved in the Hundred.
Somerset begin their 50-overs cup campaign against Kent on Friday, 26 July.
They won the competition in 2019, but finished seventh in their group last season and did not qualify for the knockout stages.
"This year’s squad will have benefitted both from the experiences that they’ve had over the last 12 months as well as previous season’s One-Day Cup exposure, and success for us is multifaceted this year," Tweddle said.
"Obviously, we want to do as well as we can, and at the same time we want to keep giving these players the experience within the first XI arena."
