Essex have signed Ireland all-rounder Curtis Campher for three One-Day Cup matches.

The 26-year-old, who was born in Johannesburg, is available to make his Essex debut against Surrey at Chelmsford on Friday.

Campher made his ODI debut for Ireland in 2020 against England at Southampton, top-scoring with 59 not out.

With the ball, he has taken 69 international wickets in his career, including 2-24 against Pakistan at last year's T20 World Cup.

"I am thrilled to be joining Essex for some white-ball action. I love county cricket and when I was presented with the opportunity I didn't have to think twice," Campher told the club website., external

"Chelmsford is a cracking ground and I am very confident I can contribute with bat and ball to help get some wins for the team."

Campher will also be available for matches away to Leicestershire and at home to Gloucestershire on 17 and 24 August but will miss the visit of Glamorgan on 20 August.
