Shakib Al-Hasan became the fifth player to take 500 wickets in T20 cricket in Antigua & Barbuda's victory over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League.

The Bangladesh all-rounder joins Afghanistan's Rashid Khan (660 wickets), West Indies duo Dwayne Bravo (631) and Sunil Narine (590), and South Africa's Imran Tahir (554) in achieving the landmark.

He only needed six balls to reach the record on Sunday, recording figures of 3-11 in a low-scoring affair at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

The Patriots set the Falcons 134 to win after their last six batters made just 22 runs.

The Falcons chased the total down with two balls to spare, with Karima Gore finishing unbeaten on 52 off 47 balls.

Shakib was also handy with the bat, making 25 (18) before being stumped by Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan.

The win leaves the Falcons top of the table, having played a few more matches than those below them.
