Kent all-rounder Grant Stewart has signed a new two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2027.

The right-arm fast bowler has been at the county since 2017, making 179 appearances – scoring 3,296 runs and taking 216 wickets.

The 31-year-old has won the T20 Blast and the One-Day Cup during his eight years at Canterbury.

In the 2023 Blast, Stewart, an Italy international, broke the Kent record for wickets in a single season, with 24 in the tournament.

"I'm extremely delighted to extend my time as a Kent cricketer," Stewart told the club website., external

"I was very proud to captain the side three times this year – after joining Kent nearly 10 years ago now from the Second XI, I've already made a lot of lifelong memories here.

"Hopefully I can make more contributions with bat and ball over the next two years and help some of the younger players to achieve their career ambitions."
