Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings are both looking to win the IPL for the first time

After 73 matches and more than 10 weeks, the Indian Premier League has reached the final.

Two teams - Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings - remain and we're guaranteed a new name on the trophy with neither side having won the tournament before.

Here's everything you need to know about the final, including how to follow on the BBC.

Which teams are in the 2025 IPL play-offs?

Punjab Kings, coached by legendary Australia captain Ricky Ponting, are in the play-offs for the first time since 2014 having topped the table at the end of the group stage. They were runners-up in 2014 but are yet to win the IPL.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are in the play-offs for the fifth time in the past six seasons. They are also yet to win the tournament, having finished as runners-up in 2009, 2011 and 2016. Andy Flower's side finished second in the group stage.

Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians were also involved in the play-offs but have been knocked out.

3. Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans) - 650

4. Mitchell Marsh (Lucknow Super Giants) - 627

5. Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) - 614

Marsh's Lucknow Super Giants are out of the tournament so he won't be able to add to his tally.
