Asa Tribe hit his third century in a week as Jersey crushed Papua New Guinea by 160 runs in the ICC Challenge League.

With all-rounder Josh Lawrenson the star in Tuesday's match against Denmark, batter Tribe ran in 175 at the Farmers Cricket Club Ground, after scoring 122 for Glamorgan against Worcestershire last Friday and then 131 against Leicestershire on Tuesday.

His contributions led to a commanding performance by his country as Jersey racked up a formidable 261 all out, whilst Papua New Guinea could only muster 101 in 30.2 overs.

"I feel like my batting's in a good spot at the moment," Tribe told BBC Radio Jersey after the match.

"I'm happy to do that for Glamorgan twice and then come and perform over here for Jersey."

Facing Papua New Guinea's bowling, the imperious Tribe replaced Harrison Carlyon's brief stint (2 for 3) in Jersey's innings with assured strokeplay, building on the momentum he has carried throughout his prolific season in county cricket.

The 21-year-old, who signed a two-year rookie contract with Glamorgan in 2023, has been in scintillating red-ball touch, with a maiden first-class ton earlier this summer and a flurry of eye-catching high scores.

"I think it's about riding the wave as well, because there's plenty of times in cricket when it doesn't go very well or you get a stinker from the umpire or just the luck isn't on your side," added Tribe.

"I'm more than happy with how my cricket's going at the moment."

Jersey's latest big win means they head into the final game of the 2025 Challenge League top of the Group A table, sitting on 15 points from nine games, ahead of Kuwait (13 points) and Papua New Guinea (nine points).

Tribe insisted, however, that a win no matter how it comes is all that matters.

He said: "I think it's really important that we just keep winning, keep taking that momentum forward with our last game, hopefully, and then take that into the third round of this competition."
