Can't be many players who have got their century off exactly a century of balls too? Well done, Ben - onwards and upwards. Daddy hundred now, please.

Another five runs added to England's total, including a ninth four for Zak Crawley. The hosts are cruising along.

On the England balcony, Joe Root is wearing a woolly hat. It's chilly at Trent Bridge.

And there it is! A fifth Test century for Ben Duckett, coming off exactly 100 balls.

He was a little bit nervy in the 90s but it's a breezy three figures for the opener.

  4. Eng 164-0published at 32 overs

That was something of a nervy second half of the over from Ben Duckett.

Sitting on 98, he's turned down for a single by Zak Crawley before a big swing and a miss brings a wry smile.

He grabs a single off the final delivery. 99 runs and counting...

  5. Eng 162-0published at 31.1 overs

Ben Duckett really is in the mood today, running a quick three to move onto 98.

    The crowd applauds in anticipation.

  6. Eng 159-0published at 31 overs

Sikandar Raza's bowling action is enormous fun to watch. Shine the ball at the elbow, hide both hands behind the back, take a skip, and off we go.

Unfortunately, Ben Duckett has him in his sights today. Another four to his tally, thwacking the ball through a very small gap in the covers.

A noticeable change in tempo from England since the lunch interval, where they have attacked just over half of the balls faced. Before lunch they were attacking a shade over a third of deliveries.

England haven't played a shot in anger. They're playing aggressively, punishing the bad ball, but respecting the good ones. It doesn't feel like Bazball.

  9. Eng 151-0published at 30 overs

    Crawley 59, Duckett 90

England bring up their 150 and Ben Duckett is into the 90s.

Spinner Sikandar Raza will continue from the opposite end.

Suddenly England are sniffing the chance to accelerate. Zimbabwe are now starting the session without a bowler, opening the door to be more aggressive. Maybe they can target Raza, if they hit him out of the attack as well then Craig Ervine has a lot to think about.

Sikandar Raza is a veteran on the franchise leagues but he is, I am pretty sure, the only player in this match who is an expert in coding.

He impressed at the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.

  12. Eng 149-0published at 29 overs

Ben Duckett is cruising quite serenely towards three figures.

He reverse-sweeps Sikandar Raza's second delivery, a full toss, wide of the slip fielder for four.

Zak Crawley also bags a boundary. An expensive over from Raza.

I suspect it's the cold. Because he wasn't bowling, he hadn't warmed up and he just tweaked something in his lower back. That's my best guess.

Richard Ngarava is being helped onto the medical cart. He's using his right hand to lift his left leg in. He looks in a lot of discomfort.

    Zimbabwe are down a bowler.

  15. Postpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 22 May

This doesn't look good for Zimbabwe. Richard Ngarava is bent double and keeps clutching his back and his hamstrings.

    The physio is on.

  16. Eng 137-0published at 28 overs

Frustration for Victor Nyauchi as Ben Duckett edges the final ball of the over through a gap for four.

  17. Eng 133-0published at 27.1 overs

Victor Nyauchi is taking the ball at the opposite end.

His first delivery has the wicketkeeper and slip fielders roaring for a wicket but Nyauchi is less interested. The replay shows there was no bat involved. Ben Duckett was well beaten.

It's interesting to start with spin, I guess it's because of the slow over rate in the first session - they only bowled 26 overs. There's some stiff fines if you don't keep up with the over rate.

  19. Eng 133-0published at 27 overs

A good start from Sikandar Raza, conceding three singles from the first over after lunch.

Brian Bennett, fielding in the covers, earns the applause of the crowd after getting down sharply to stop a powerfully struck shot from Ben Duckett.

Zimbabwe have turned to spin after lunch.

Sikandar Raza will bowl the 27th over.
