In most cases you'd say South Africa have a very good chance here but as the old adage goes, don't judge a Test match until both teams bat.

This game is nicely set up as Australia come out.

If you’re talking underrated at Test level, surely it’s Ben Foakes keeping wicket?

    John, Newcastle

Mohammad Abbas and Ryan Harris surely get into the underrated XI.

    Dan

Angelo Mathews and Tom Latham for me. #Underrated XI

    Jim, Bristol

  4. 'So happy to do the job out there'published at 16:13 British Summer Time 11 June

South Africa's Kagiso Rabada to Sky Sports: "Coming here about a week ago, you could already feel the atmosphere, but it was really special this morning to see all the support we had. It feels like a home game almost.

"We were ready, we were ready a week ago. So hopefully we can put them under pressure now with some runs this evening.

"It means a lot for me playing for South Africa, I give my all each and every time. I am so happy to do the job out there. We all started so well as a unit, and this game means so much to all of us, but I just got the rewards today."

"The pitch is a touch slow but against the new ball it's quite hard to score. It looked easier against the older ball when they were batting with more intent."

On surpassing Allan Donald's wicket tally: "That's all secondary to me. I just want to keep running in and doing my job, but yeah, that's awesome. Allan Donald, what a legend, it means a lot to get past someone like him."

It is Kagiso Rabada's 17th five-wicket haul and only two South Africans have taken more in Test cricket.

It is his fourth five-for in just 11 Tests against Australia.

I, for one, had been thinking about that, so thanks Tim!

Well, I don't think many people would have had Australia being bowled out for little more than 200 on their bingo card at the start of today.

They fought back nicely in the second session and there were half-centuries for Beau Webster (72) and Steve Smith (66).

But from 190-5 at tea, they collapsed to 212 all out.

Australia are out. It's a terrific return from Kagiso Rabada. Well done him. He's come out and bowled brilliantly.

South Africa could have done little more. The sun is shining and they've got a terrific opportunity here. They'll have the best of the surface and conditions.

What a response from Kagiso Rabada coming into this match under a cloud.

It's important for him to show that when he said he's moved on from that moment, he meant it. He knows facing Australia brings out the best in him.

    Starc b Rabada 1 (Aus 212)

    And that's that!

Five wickets for Kagiso Rabada and Australia are all out for 212.

He finishes with figures of 5-51 from 15.4 overs and walks off to a huge ovation, waving the ball in the air as he goes.

Angelo Mathews has to make the underrated modern 11.

    Felix

I'd have Dean Elgar & Mohammad Shami in my underrated XI. Great opening batter & very reliable bowler.

    Ian

Firstly I would like to put Ravindra Jadeja in there. Every Test he seems to score runs and take wickets yet never gets the plaudits. Other player I would put in there is Dean Elgar who averaged 38 in the hardest place to open. Those would be my two picks.

South Africa chose to put themselves under pressure and bowl and they've delivered. For them to win it, they're going to have to nail their first innings.

  14. Aus 211-9published at 56 overs

Well, Temba Bavuma and South Africa haven't really put a foot wrong since tea, have they?

    A wicket-maiden for Marco Jansen.

Oh he's bowled him. I'm not sure Nathan Lyon has seen a single ball he's received out there.

He's out for a duck and it's South Africa's day. They made a brave call to bowl first and it's working for them so far.

    Lyon b Jansen 0 (211-9)

Temba Bavuma makes the bowling change, bringing back Marco Jansen, and he strikes with the penultimate delivery of the over.

Nathan Lyon is clean bowled. Australia are nine down.

Rabada is a massively underrated bowler imo. Which got me thinking who would be in an underrated modern 11? I'd like to put forward Ross Taylor and Vernon Philander to start.

Kagiso Rabada now goes up Allan Donald as South Africa's fourth-highest Test wicket taker with 331 in 71 matches.

  20. Aus 210-8published at 55 overs

Kagiso Rabada nearly has two in two balls!

He beats Nathan Lyon and the ball whistles over the stumps. He's all over Australia at the moment.
