  1. 6 runs

    Ire 100-5published at 14.2 overs

This helps! Ben Calitz clears the leg to smack a six over mid-wicket.

  2. Ire 96-5published at 14 overs

Ireland need a partnership but we're into the bowling all-rounders. There's also not much point just knocking the ball around to get to 135.

Ireland need a good partnership now and can't afford to lose anymore wickets. They are struggling out there.

Harry Tector throws his head in anger. It was another clever piece of bowling from Liam Dawson, all the pace was taken off.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.3 overs

    Tector c Rashid b Dawson 28 (Ire 90-5)

And Liam Dawson has another wicket. Harry Tector gets a top edge on an attempted switch hit and the ball loops to Adil Rashid at short third.

  6. Ire 90-4published at 13.2 overs

England have a lot of bowling options today, even without Sam Curran and Will Jacks in the XI.

Liam Dawson is back, having conceded only six in his first over.

  7. Ire 89-4published at 13 overs

Jamie Ploverton (Perhaps, Jamie Overkett?) continues with this effective tactic of thudding the ball into the middle of the pitch.

Again, it's only singles throughout the over. Overton, whatever name we're giving him, has been good so far.

I think the pitch is slow and the English bowlers have bowled well to the conditions. Specifically Adil Rashid, his slight vary of pace is so effective.

I don't think this is a 200 pitch today if you bowl well but the Ireland attack and the England attack are very different.

  9. Ire 84-4published at 12 overs

    Tector 26, Calitz 11

You'd think Ireland are still going to have to get over 175 to make this competitive. Harry Tector needs to keep going.

One thing that Harry Tector said he's trying to do is up his scoring rate against spinners.

  11. 6 runs

    Ire 82-4published at 11.4 overs

This one has been come out of the screws.

Harry Tector picks the Rehan Ahmed googly and sends the ball over towards the hospitality tent.

Ireland have only once beaten a full member nation after losing four or more wickets at the ten over mark in a T20I. That was against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2023.

  13. Ire 70-4published at 11 overs

Ben Calitz has his first boundary in international cricket as he climbs into a shorter ball from Adil Rashid.

As we said earlier, left-hander Calitz was born in Canada, grew up in South Africa and has spent the last three-and-a-bit years in Ireland.

One thing it has given him is a mind-boggling accent.

Rehan Ahmed bowls another tidy over. Ireland haven't been able to get any rhythm, they'll be hoping that Tector stays the distance but they can't afford to lose anymore wickets.

  15. Ire 62-4published at 10 overs

    Tector 13, Calitz

Four singles from Rehan Ahmed's second over. England are well on top.

Ben Calitz is off the mark on debut at least.

Difficult situation for a batsman coming in. Campher had to keep attacking and had to keep staying positive but he didn't follow through on the shot, he didn't go large, fairly flat and it's an easy catch for Tom Banton.

Rehan Ahemd continues with a slip in place...

England are bowling better today compared to Wednesday. They've bowled to their field much better. It was a great idea to get Rehan Ahmed in after the powerplay.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9 overs

    Campher c Banton b Overton 2 (Ire 58-4)

Two in the over for Jamie Overton. Curtis Campher comes in and clubs the big quick to long-on.

If Jamie Overton put on a Middlesbrough accent he'd be doing a fine Liam Plunkett impression. He's banging the ball into the middle of the pitch to good effect.

That's a disastrous wicket for Ireland. Lorcan Tucker wasn't allowed to get any rhythm going by there England bowlers but when he finally thought he got a chance, he sent it straight into the hands of Luke Wood.
