'What a knock!' - Buttler's emphatic 96 off 59

  1. Eng 172-4published at 18.1 overs

Four for Jos Buttler, with a rather streaky edge after he slashes at a wider one from Alzarri Joseph

On to 95 he goes. One big hit over the ropes from here brings the former England captain a hundred.

    Chase bowls Brook for six

A lot gripes for Harry Brook's dismissal. Judge for yourself...

  3. Eng 167-4published at 18 overs

Jos Buttler's highest T20 international score in England.

A short ball from Romario Shepherd and Buttler swats it into the pitch like a table tennis shot to pick up a couple more.

Can he get to three figures here?

Pretty sure Buttler has been going at a strike rate of about 100 since he hit 50 as well, to be fair.

A brilliant piece of batting. Innovative and impossible to do anything about.

  6. Eng 159-4published at 17.3 overs

Romario Shepherd returns for the third-from-last over and the final one of his allotment.

Jos Buttler moves on to 86 with a cheeky reverse sweep over the head of short third which goes for four.

That's a ridiculous shot, to get it so square.

Andre Russell got in two minds. And then a third, fourth and possibly fifth mind. Then he ended up belly-flopping.

  9. Eng 156-4published at 17 overs

Andre Russell has got marmite on his boots as he struggles to get in from short third to catch a reverse slap from Jos Buttler.

Next ball Buttler manages to heave one across from outside off into the leg side for four. Rather unconventional, but England will take boundaries no matter how they come.

Come on Jacob…….over 16 and a strike rate of 100!!

  11. Eng 149-4published at 16.2 overs

Jason Holder lumbers in but Jos Buttler can only manage a single after he drills it low to deep mid-off. Smart piece of bowling, actually, as Buttler went wide of his crease and Holder tracked him.

When Jos was an under 11 his coach at Cheddar said it was like bowling at a wall with a hammer attached. Nice to see little has changed.

  13. Eng 148-4published at 16 overs

Alzarri Joseph keeps his cool in the remainder of the over, varying his pace, as Jacob Bethell is unable to follow up on that early six.

England need to get Jos Buttler on strike here...

  14. Eng 145-4published at 15.3 overs

A couple of wides from Alzarri Joseph boost England's total. The West Indies seamer is not so happy with the second one after Jacob Bethell scurries down the pitch early.

Looks like a wicket where you don't bowl short but target the stumps.

He's got very quick hands. Bowl a 78mph ball on his hip and he'll swivel away.

He's so quick in the crease.

West Indies have reacted smartly here as they have adjusted to the pitch.

However, Jacob Bethell manages to break the shackles as he waits for a slower ball from Alzarri Joseph then swivels on heels before whipping it square for six.

I'm not sure about Tom Banton at number five against the spinners. Either open with him and have some fun, or put someone more rounded in the middle order. Could he swap with Jamie Smith and move Harry Brook to five?

We said if they could keep them to 180, it would be impressive.

Anything under 200 is a good game.

  20. Eng 136-4published at 15 overs

After a opening blast from England, West Indies have really put the brakes on here. Romario Shepherd has 2-21 from his three overs.
