  1. Umpire reviewpublished at 12.2 overs

Quinton de Kock's eyes light up as he heaves a Harmeet Singh full toss towards the mid-wicket boundary - but Shayan Jahangir takes it on the rope!

De Kock doesn't move though and the umpire's are giving this another look to check if it a waist-high no-ball.

  2. SA 125-1published at 12 overs

    That is delicious.

Corey Anderson bowls another full toss and Quinton de Kock nonchalantly plays a pre-meditated ramp shot over the wicketkeeper's head for his seventh four of the innings so far.

That's probably Quinton de Kock's biggest shot of the day. 90 metres.

  4. 6 runs

    SA 115-1published at 11.2 overs

I think that nearly ended up in the car park.

The burly figure of Corey Anderson comes on and serves up a full toss that Quinton de Kock gleefully hammers over deep mid-wicket for another huge six.

  5. SA 108-1published at 11 overs

Harmeet Singh's slow left-arm yorkers from around the wicket are proving surprisingly effective.

After two singles from the first four deliveries he then bowls a more traditional length that is cut away for four, so returns to the yorker to end the over with a dot ball.

If it works, stick with it.

Here's a selection of Quinton de Kock's rockets.

That is good improvisation from Quinton de Kock. He pierced the gap perfectly.

  8. SA 101-1published at 10 overs

Great placement from Quinton de Kock, who takes a huge stride forward and places a sweep shot through the gap in the leg side.

At the moment it feels like no matter where USA bowl, De Kock will find the gap. He has raced on to 58 from just 33 deliveries.

South Africa reach 101-1 at the halfway stage. Think it's fair to say they will eclipse their previous high score this tournament of 115-7.

  9. Postpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 19 June

A playing on some pretty ropey pitches this tournament, Quinton de Kock looks to be making up for lost time.

I can't see how they will get them out there's no spin or uncertainty. Other than a fault from the batter, I can't see a way in.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Quinton de Kockpublished at 8.4 overs

A powerful sweep-shot on the half-volley fixzzes through square for four to bring up Quinton de Kock's 50 from just 26 deliveries.

With the firepower still to come this could get pretty ugly for USA, who need wickets and fast.

That is a proper quality shot, the lovely control and head position. The South African captain has had enough now and Taylor is bowling one pace and he's getting punished for it.

  13. SA 83-1published at 8 overs

It's twin spin as off-spinner Steven Taylor comes on.

Aiden Markram has his game face on though and plays a delightful reverse sweep that clears short third and runs away for four.

Markram then seizes on an overpitched ball and pummels the ball over long-on for six.

This is some mighty hitting from the Proteas.

USA have been disciplined and bowled good lines and lengths throughout this tournament. They aren't doing a lot wrong, if I was them I wouldn't be scratching my head too much.

  15. SA 69-1published at 7 overs

Left-armer Harmeet Singh enters the attack and bowls a heap of full tosses from around the wicket that prove tricky for South Africa to get away.

Just the five singles from the over represents something of a win for USA.

Quinton de Kock has peppered the leg side so far, but he has been given the balls to do so by the USA.

Quinton de Kock is trying to take every ball on and he's not holding back. He picks up lengths so well and does swivel with it over square. It will go a long way if it connects.

  18. 6 runs

    SA 64-1published at 6 overs

There's more than a bit of Lasith Malinga about Ali Khan, with that distinctive slingy action.

But Quinton de Kock looks like he wants to smash everything into the sea, so when he bowls a touch short the South Africa opener powers the ball over deep mid-wicket for his fourth six of the innings.

  19. Postpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 19 June

This was the first six of the match, but merely a prelude to the carnage that was soon to follow.

Jessie Singh's over has changed the complexion of this innings completely. The fourth over has got South Africa going, Quinton de Kock looks ominous.
