  1. WI 116-2published at 15.3 overs

All of a sudden the West Indies players on the sidleines look a little bit nervous.

However, Deandra Dottin goes down on one knee and slogs it square for four - despite the diving Maia Bouchier, who has been a magnet for the ball today.

  2. WI 112-2published at 15 overs

All of a sudden Deandra Dottin and Shemaine Campbelle keep picking out the fielders in the deep off Lauren Bell.

Four off the over. 30 runs off 30 balls for West Indies.

If England can somehow take this match to the last over then, well, strange things can happen.

I've been in this position before. It's horrible. Everything just keeps going wrong, it's like a disease. We actually call it the fielding disease.

  4. WI 108-2published at 14 overs

Doubtless those club cricketers among you will have played in the odd game where a team have been 100-odd for none in pursuit of 140 odd and fallen short about eight or nine down.

Lauren Bell back into the attack.

  5. How's stat?!published at 17:52 British Summer Time 15 October

In their warm-up game, West Indies were chasing 145 against Australia and were well set at 68-0 and 92-1 but lost their final nine wickets for just 17 runs.

    Hope for England?

Both West Indies openers have gone in quick succession, and suddenly England look like they almost believe.

It's absurd, really. But you never know what a couple of wickets can do.

    Matthews c Gibson b Glenn 50 (WI 104-2)

    Back-to-back catches held!

Fifty and out for Hayley Matthews as she attempts to muller a a half-tracker from Sarah Glenn but ends up sending it skywards.

Dani Gibson watches it carefully out the night sky at long-on and holds on.

England, at least, have some hope.

Re: Alex from Old Swinford - not sure I agree. Surely that's like saying an 1500m runner shouldn't be allowed to be at the back of the pack then sprint the final lap to win?

    Chris, Bristol

Alex, how would you sort out teams that finish equal on points then? A mascot race? Cricket charades? It's not ideal, but NRR is fair at least.

Qiana Joseph gives a sixth catching opportunity and finally one is taken. England have made the breakthrough, but is it too little, too late?

    Joseph c Wyatt b Nat Sciver-Brunt 52

Stop press. England have held a catch!

Qiana Joseph goes for another big shot but this time her luck runs out as Danni Wyatt-Hodge comes skipping in and manages to scoop her hands under the ball and this time it sticks.

Wyatt-Hodge slings the ball back in after holding it, in a fit of pique.

    Deary me.

Qiana Joseph whacks Nat Sciver-Brunt downtown but Maia Bouchier spills a simple catch at long-off.

  13. WI 102-0published at 12 overs

Sophie Ecclestone huffs and puffs after she collects her cap from the umpire. Four singles off her over. Wickets are the currency England need, though.

There's a despondency in the body language of England's players now.

What an incredible redemption this is for Qiana Joseph. It was embarrassing when she looked all at sea in that first game against South Africa and now, she's taking her team into the semi-finals.

Qiana Joseph reached her half-century in that last over from Sarah Glenn. She put her hands together to make a heart sign in the direction of the West Indies dressing room.

The left-handed opener was on a bit of a lean run before this match.

Another terrible cricket tournament where a team can coast through three group games winning them all then lose the final game and go out?? NRR might be good but it’s wonky when the final team gets a final innings to 'rig' it? Albeit by playing well, England can’t go back to their first game and up the run-rate a bit.

Only 61.5% of catches have been taken at this competition - that is the lowest of the 13 men's + women's T20 World Cups where dropped catches are logged in our database.

The second lowest is the 2014 Men's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh with a catch percentage of 75.5% - a whopping 14% higher than this competition.

The attitude to running, striking the ball, fielding, catching and bowling has been so negative. Maybe the worst England performance I’ve ever seen.

We could be done before 6pm at this rate, Sam.

England coach Jon Lewis came out out at the drinks break and was frantically giving instructions to England's players.

Sarah Glenn's second ball after drinks is cut for four by Hayley Matthews.
