Britain's Bradley Wiggins finished third on the fifth stage of the Paris-Nice race to retain the leader's yellow jersey.

Dutchman Lieuwe Westra won ahead of Spain's Alejandro Valverde and Wiggins on the 178.5km leg from Onet-le-Chateau to Cote de Croix Neuve.

Westra moved to within six seconds overall of Team Sky's Wiggins.

American Levi Leipheimer is third overall - 10 seconds off the pace - with Valverde fourth.

The last of the remaining three stages is a 9.6km uphill individual time trial to the Col d'Eze on Sunday.
