Lizzie Armitstead finishes second to Marianne Vos in omnium

Britain's Lizzie Armitstead finished second behind Netherlands' Marianne Vos in the elite women's omnium at the Revolution Series on Saturday.

Armitstead, who came second in the London 2012 road race to Vos, pushed the Dutchwoman all the way in Manchester's National Cycling Centre.

The Rabobank rider held off Armitstead by two bike lengths in the elimination race on her way to overall victory.

Britain's Ed Clancy won the men's flying lap for team Rapha Condor Sharp.

The win helped Rapha Condor Sharp stay in control of the elite championship.

The British team now have 125 points after the second round of the four-event series, 25 ahead of nearest challengers, Germany's Rudy Project RT.

Olympic gold and bronze medallist Clancy went round in 13.292 seconds to beat Steven Burke of IG Sigma Sport into second while Team Sky finished third in the madison and the British team's Luke Rowe also won the points race.

Armitstead, Joanna Rowsell and Elinor Barker beat Vos, Ellen van Dyck and Amy Pieters in a one-off women's team pursuit race between Britain and Netherlands.
