European Track Championships: GB's Jon Dibben in contention
- Published
Jon Dibben delivered the highlight of an otherwise difficult day for Great Britain at the European Track Championships in Guadeloupe.
Dibben, 20, lies third after three of six events in the men's omnium.
He has 104 points, four behind leader Artur Ershov of Russia and two behind Spain's Unai Elorriaga Zubiaur.
Elsewhere, Callum Skinner and Matt Crampton went out of the men's sprint in the first round and Rosie Blount and Katy Marchant exited at the same stage.
Dibben will resume his quest for a medal on Saturday, while Laura Trott defends her European omnium crown.
Caribbean island Guadeloupe is a French colony, and the championships are the first chance to score Olympic qualification points for the Rio 2016 Olympics.
