Sean Yates: Former Team Sky director joins Tinkoff-Saxo

Sean Yates, the man who helped Sir Bradley Wiggins win the Tour de France, is joining Chris Froome's main rivals Tinkoff-Saxo as a sports director.

Yates was Team Sky's lead sports director from their launch in 2010 until a few months after Wiggins's win in 2012, when he suddenly quit.

The 54-year-old returned to the sport in 2014 in a part-time role with NFTO, who ride on the British circuit.

He won two Grand Tour stages during his 15-year career as a rider.
