Ride London 2024: Watch Lizzie Deignan in Classique on BBC
- Published
Great Britain's Lizzie Deignan will go head-to-head with Belgian world champion Lotte Kopecky this week at the three-stage Ride London Classique, available to watch on the BBC.
Deignan has won several of the sport's biggest races, including the inaugural one-day Paris-Roubaix Femmes in 2021.
She was also the first British athlete to win a medal at the home London Olympics in 2012 where she took silver.
This will be the 35-year-old's second appearance in the Classique, which is a UCI Women's World Tour race and takes place from 24 to 26 May.
Other riders to look out for include former race winners Charlotte Kool and Lorena Wiebe from the Netherlands.
The 382km race starts in Saffron Walden in north-west Essex before heading to the market town of Maldon on day two and ending in central London on Sunday.
The Ride London annual festival of cycling will also be taking place in central London, continuing on the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by allowing amateur cyclists the opportunity to ride on traffic-free roads.
