Luke Humphries, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a fantastic game of darts. I said I like playing him. he gives it the big one but you need people like him in this game. He goes under my skin but I got him. Such a tough player to beat. He stayed in there and I showed a lot of resilience in the end. I've got to bring that tonight.

"Sometimes you want to give a little bit back. He makes you want to be better but I keep my emotions in check. He was getting revved up. He said my scoring is so relentless and he couldn't deal with it. When he's on his game, he's a match for anyone.

"I feel there's more to give. I believe I can put it up higher. This could be my last day as world number one, who knows? I've been so happy and proud of myself but it's not about that for me. I want to pick up this trophy that started my career.

On Littler: "I hope he wins because he's probably going to take it off me anyway. A great final between me and Luke is in prospect. It's a war now, I'm going to try and take it back."
