Olympic medallist Daniel Goodfellow says now is the right time to "start something new" after announcing his retirement from diving.
The 28-year-old Briton won bronze in the men's 10m synchro alongside Tom Daley at Rio 2016, a gold medal in the team event at the World Championships in Doha last year and is also a two-time Commonwealth Games champion.
Writing on Instagram,, external he said he realised "how fortunate and privileged" he had been to be part of such a successful era of British diving.
"I leave the sport with no regrets, and I hope I've inspired at least one person the way I was," Goodfellow wrote.
"It never seems like It will end when you're living it, but after more than 20 years of training and competing, it feels like now is the right time to close this chapter and start something new. "
Team GB diving coach Jane Figueiredo said Goodfellow had been a pleasure to work with, while his former team-mate Matty Lee added he was "very honoured to have shared the boards" with him.
