Glentoran have announced that Coleraine winger Stephen Carson will join them next season.

Carson will see out the current campaign with the Bannsiders but has signed a pre-contract agreement to move to the Oval in the summer.

The loss of their captain and Northern Ireland international will be seen as a big blow to Coleraine.

But he is exactly the sort of signing Glens boss Scott Young has been seeking as he tries to strengthen his squad.

Coleraine boss Oran Kearney is hoping another of his key players, Darren Boyce, does not leave as well.

There has been speculation that Boyce could be also on his way to Glentoran, where he had a brief spell in 2008.

Boyce is currently considering the offer of a new contract at Coleraine.
