Aberdeen extend Milsom and Robertson contracts

Milsom's contract is a sign Craig Brown has begun rebuilding for next season

Aberdeen have secured midfielder Rob Milsom on a two-year deal.

The former Fulham player arrived at Pittodrie on a short-term deal in January and has been a first pick for manager Craig Brown since then.

Milsom, 24, spent 12 years with the Craven Cottage outfit but made just two first-team appearances as a substitute.

Also signing a two-year extension is 17-year-old full-back Clark Robertson, who made his Dons debut under Mark McGhee last season at the age of 16.

The youngster has gone on to make 10 appearances in the first team this term.

English midfielder Milsom started his career as a full-back, but he has established himself in the Dons team in midfield, where he can play on the left side or in a central role.

And, praising Brown and assistant Archie Knox, he said: "I'm very pleased.

Being down south, you don't see much of Scottish football - I didn't realise it was such a big club.

"I've enjoyed my time working under the manager until now and I'm looking forward to next season.

"I've been here for three, four months now.

"I've enjoyed my time, playing games and Craig and Archie are good man-managers and they were the main factors in staying here."

Milsom was on loan at Finnish side TPS last season and has also had spells at Brentford and Southend.
