Hartlepool United defender Sam Collins has signed a new undisclosed deal at Victoria Park.

The 33-year-old centre-back joined Pools from Hull City in January 2008 and has since made 153 appearances for the club, scoring five goals.

"It was what I wanted to do, I've been really pleased with how it has gone, I wanted to stay, I am happy with where I am," Collins told the club website, external.

"I have really enjoyed my time here and I think the signs are looking good."

Collins has captained the club for the last two seasons, and played 49 games this season.
