MK Dons midfielder Peter Leven will miss his side's play-off games after having surgery on a foot injury.

The 27-year-old Scot fractured his metatarsal in training last week and had a "successful" operation on Monday.

Leven has been an integral part of Karl Robinson's side this season, making 46 appearances across all competitions and scoring eight times.

"For him, it's a crying shame. I'd love to have him part of the plans," Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"He's going to make sure now he recovers right and recovers fully for next season."

But Leven is Robinson's only injury concern for Sunday's League One play-off semi-final first leg against Peterborough United at Stadium MK.

"They're all enjoying it, are fit and running around, and the youthful enthusiasm is there in the training sessions," he said.

"We can't wait, we honestly can't wait."
