Ivory Coast's Coulibaly hits four at U17 World Cup

The Ivorians still have a chance of advancing at the Under-17 World Cup

Souleymane Coulibaly alerted the attention of leading sides when scoring all four goals as Ivory Coast beat Denmark 4-2 at the U17 World Cup.

Coulibaly is the top scorer in Mexico, with five goals in two games, helping his team to second in Group F.

Should Australia beat Denmark in the final round of games, Ivory Coast would realistically have to beat group leaders Brazil to make it through.

The last round of Group F matches will take place on Sunday.

Elsewhere, African champions Burkina Faso are having a tournament to forget.

They lost their second match in Group E 3-0 to Germany, who now top the table with maximum points and nine goals scored.

Koray Guenter, Levent Aycicek and Mitchell Weiser did the damage in Queretaro.

The Burkinabe's chances were not helped by dismissals to Yaya Bamba in the first half and substitute Ben Zerbo just fifteen minutes after coming in the second period.

Burkina Faso prop up the group, having failed to score in their two games while conceding four goals.

They face Ecuador in their final game on Sunday when even victory is unlikely to take them through.

However, all eyes will be on Coulibaly as the group stages conclude on Sunday.

After Denmark's Kenneth Zohore opened the scoring in Guadalajara in the ninth minute, Coulibaly grabbed his first after 23 minutes.

The Danes then took the lead through Viktor Fischer but Coulibaly replied within four minutes before firing the Ivorians in front just before the break.

Not content with a hat-trick, he struck his fourth goal of the game from the penalty sport after 69 minutes to wrap up Africa's second victory in eight matches in Mexico.
