France came from two goals down to beat Ivory Coast 3-2 in the last 16 of the Under-17 World Cup in Mexico.
Souleymane Coulibaly scored his ninth goal of the tournament after just three minutes and Drissa Diarrassouba added a second for the Ivorians on 25 minutes.
Yassine Benzia was on target for France eight minutes before the break and then scored a penalty in the 74th minute.
In between Benzia's two goals Lenny Nangis found the net to end Africa's interest at the tournament.
Coulibaly's goal tally equals the mark set by Florent Sinama Pongolle when France won the under-17 title in 2001 in Trinidad and Tobago.
Benzia is now the second highest scorer at the tournament with five goals.
In the quarter-finals France will play hosts Mexico, who beat Panama 2-0 on Thursday.
