League Two side Bradford City have completed the signing of former Nottingham Forest striker Nialle Rodney on a one-year deal.

The 20-year-old has joined on a free transfer after being released by Forest at the end of last season.

Rodney told the club website: , external"I'm glad that it has all been done and dusted and I'm just ready now to play for Bradford City.

"I'm young and hungry for success and I want to prove myself."

Manager Peter Jackson said:, external "Nialle offers us something different to what we already have in attack.

"He's a forward player with real pace and I think that is something we missed up front last season.

"He has the pace to get behind and stretch defences and really force opposition sides to think."

Rodney will compete with Bradford's other strikers Mark Stewart, Ross Hannah, James Hanson and Darren Stephenson for a starting place.

"I am looking forward to the season ahead and to working with the staff that we have at the club," he added.

"I also can't wait to play and try and score some goals in this magnificent stadium.

"The support I received from Peter Jackson and [assistant manager] Colin Cooper was a big factor in me coming here. They have shown a lot of faith in me and really believed in me.

"The fanbase round here is massive and that was also another reason behind my decision to come here.

"I have had some interest from other clubs but this place is a massive club and I just want to help it progress.

"Hopefully I can play my part by scoring some goals for the team."
