Coventry City have appointed former midfielder Lee Carsley as coach of their under-18 side.

The 37-year-old retired as a player when he was released by the Sky Blues at the end of the season.

Carsley played 77 times for the Midlands side in two spells, the first between 2000 and 2002 before returning last season as club captain.

He was also part of the Republic of Ireland squad that reached the last 16 of the 2002 World Cup.
