Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of former Aston Villa midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker.
The 27-year-old, a free agent, has agreed a two-year contract.
"I spoke with the gaffer [Owen Coyle] and he outlined his plans and how he wants the club to progress," ex-England U21 captain Reo-Coker told Bolton's official website, external.
"I want to be part of that and I'm looking forward to meeting up with the lads and getting to work."
Manager Coyle said: "We're delighted to have signed Nigel.
"He's got the quality, drive and desire to compete at the highest level in the Premier League and I'm delighted that we have been able to bring him to the club."
Reo-Coker, who joined Villa for £8.5m from West Ham in 2007, moved to Upton Park from MK Dons in 2004.
He becomes Bolton's second signing of the summer, following Swansea midfielder Darren Pratley's arrival on a free transfer.
