Injury blow for Carlisle United's Paddy Madden

Madden could be out until October

Carlisle United striker Paddy Madden could be out for three months with a broken metatarsal.

The 21-year-old suffered the injury 15 minutes into their pre-season friendly with Workington, a game they lost 2-0.

The Irishman is on crutches and is scheduled to see a specialist during the week.

Madden has failed to score for the League One club in one start and 13 substitute appearances since his January switch from Bohemians.
