Blackpool have completed the signing of defender Miguel Llera on a one-year deal with the option of a further year.

The 31-year-old has spent much of the summer training with the relegated Premier League side after leaving League One side Charlton Athletic.

The Spaniard moved to England in 2008 after spells with Recreativo, Alicante, Gimnastic and Hercules.

"I'm very happy to have signed, it's a fantastic opportunity for me to play in this division," Llera said.

"I've been training with the side in Portugal and now I've signed I will start as a substitute and try to break into the starting line-up.

"People in England see I have played in League One for the last couple of seasons but I have also played in La Liga in Spain and the second division there so I think I have what it takes to succeed," he added.
