Wycombe have signed goalkeeper Jason Mooney on a one-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The 22-year-old, who had previously been working as a barman at the League One club, had agreed non-contract terms at Adams Park earlier this summer.

The 6ft 9ins Northern Irishman told the club website: "I can't believe what's happened, it's unbelievable.

"Six months ago I was a full-time gardener and playing six leagues down from the Premier League back home."

Mooney previously played for Northern Irish sides Ards, Bangor, Ards Rangers and Comber Rec.

He is currently on loan at Southern League Premier Division side Oxford City, keeping five clean sheets in seven pre-season matches.

Wanderers first-choice keeper Nikki Bull said on Twitter, external: "Big Jason deserves this chance. Don't think I have ever seen improvement in a player in such a short timeframe."
