Two first-half goals earned Hyde three points against Worcester on the opening day of the Blue Square Bet North season.

Ryan Crowther put the home side ahead after 20 minutes and Hyde quickly doubled their advantage from the penalty spot.

Matthew Barclay rifled home the spot-kick on 28 minutes.

Worcester's Mike Symons missed a penalty at the end of the first half, and his goal after the interval was not enough for City.

City manager Carl Heeley told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "We dominated the game for the first 20 minutes and then gave away two poor goals.

"In the second half, we absolutely smashed them and how we haven't got anything from the game is a mystery."
