Louis Briscoe extends Mansfield Town deal

Mansfield Town winger Louis Briscoe has signed a two-year contract extension with the Blue Square Bet Premier side.

The 23-year-old has made 97 league appearances for the Stags since joining from Port Vale in 2009.

Briscoe, who has been capped by England C, was named Mansfield's player of the year last season after scoring 19 goals from midfield.

Manager Paul Cox told the club website: "This is excellent news for the football club."

He added: "We had a bid from another club in our league, but it was well below Louis' valuation."
