Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri could face Liverpool

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists he would have no problem picking Samir Nasri against Liverpool on Saturday.

The midfielder is thought to be on the brink of a move away from the Emirates Stadium, with Manchester City keen to sign him.

Wenger maintains while the 24-year-old is still an Arsenal player there is no reason to leave him out now he is fully fit after a bout of illness.

"I don't question the commitment of Samir to this club," he said.

Nasri is yet to sign a new deal and could leave for nothing next summer but could still feature when the Reds visit.

The French international could be in for a hostile reception from some sections of the home support, with the midfielder using his Twitter account to hit out at the "disrespectful" chants during last weekend's game at Newcastle.

Nevertheless, Wenger - who this week saw captain Cesc Fabregas move to Barcelona - said: "Every day since he has arrived here, every day in pre-season, he has worked with a fantastic spirit in training.

"The fans will want Arsenal to play well and win the game. They do not make an individual case of each player in each position.

"They want good players and to win the football game."

Wenger has also reaffirmed his loyalty to the Premier League club following comments made by former vice-chairman David Dein.

Dein, who left the club in April 2007, had stated that he believed Wenger could walk away from the club if criticism of him by fans continued.

Wenger, who watched the Gunners beat Udinese 1-0 from the stands on Tuesday, has denied the claims, saying: "You can question my decisions, but not my loyalty to this club."
