Southend United have signed Swindon Town midfielder Michael Timlin on loan until January.
The 28-year-old, who has featured once for Paolo Di Canio's side this term, played eight games during a spell with the Shrimpers last season.
"I'm delighted, it's taken a while, I was waiting around for it for about a week," he told BBC Essex, external.
"I told the chairman from the start I was eager to come back here because I enjoyed my time here last year."
Timlin joined Swindon from Fulham in 2006, initially on loan, and has since gone on to make a total of 120 league appearances.
"I was keen that he goes out and gets first team football," Swindon chairman Jeremy Wray told BBC Wiltshire.
"Southend is a club very close to him so it seems a sensible option that he goes there."
Meanwhile, midfielder Alassane N'Diaye has had his loan spell from Crystal Palace cancelled.
The 21-year-old failed to make a single appearance at Roots Halls and has had his Palace contract terminated.
