Thurrock chairman Tommy South is confident boss Robbie Garvey can turn the club's fortunes around.

Garvey' side have plummeted to the bottom of the Blue Square Bet South with five straight defeats, conceding 17 goals in the process.

South told BBC Essex: "Everyone knows Robert Garvey is a winner, he's under no pressure from this club.

"I think he's the man that will get us out of trouble. We win our next two and its a different picture."

Thurrock travel to fellow strugglers Staines Town on Saturday.
