Tottenham sign planning agreement to build new stadium

Tottenham have signed a planning agreement to build a new stadium next to White Hart Lane.
The Premier League club says it can continue discussions with local authorities and the London mayor in a bid to secure funding for the move.
Tottenham, however, have not given up hope of becoming the long-term tenants of the Olympic Stadium after next year's Games.
They have mounted a legal challenge against West Ham's current winning bid.
Spurs want to redevelop White Hart Lane in a 20-acre industrial side adjacent to the ground in a plan known as the Northumberland Development Project (NDP).
The Section 106 agreement means they have agreed to pay some money towards local facilities in the area around the stadium if they decide to go ahead with plans to stay in the north London borough.
A Tottenham statement read: "The club can confirm that the S106 agreement in respect of the Northumberland Development Project has now been completed and planning permissions have been issued.
"This enables discussions with the London borough of Haringey, the Mayor of London and central government to continue as we seek to make the development viable and deliverable.
"As always, we shall keep all our supporters updated as these progress."
White Hart Lane has been Tottenham's home ground since 1899 but a capacity of 36,000 restricts income from ticket sales and match-day revenue compared to that enjoyed by many of the club's Premier League rivals.
