MK Dons have signed Sheffield Wednesday striker Clinton Morrison on a one-month loan deal.

The 32-year-old, who won 36 caps for the Republic of Ireland, has scored two goals in 10 games for the Owls this season and had reportedly turned down a move to Swindon in midweek.

He told his new club's website:, external "As soon as I knew MK Dons were interested in me, I wanted to join.

"MK Dons are the best passing side in the division."

The former Crystal Palace and Birmingham frontman added: "I don't feel I need to prove a point, I'm just here to play my football.

"I want to enjoy myself and be happy and hopefully I can help with MK Dons' ambitions of promotion."

Dons boss Robinson said: "Clinton is someone I respect and have liked for a long time. Whenever we have played against Sheffield Wednesday in the past we have done a lot of work to stop him playing which just proves what a top player he is.

"I love his character, his desire and the fact that he is a winner. I think the fans will take to him and make him feel at home at Stadium MK."
