Lee Hughes signs extended Notts County contract
- Published
Notts County striker Lee Hughes has signed a new deal which ties him to the club until the end of the 2013 season.
The 35-year-old, who has hit six goals in 12 games this season, also has the option to extend his stay by 12 months.
Chairman Ray Trew said: "Lee is a credit to Notts, a real character around the club and a top professional.
"The fact negotiations were concluded so quickly and Lee was willing to take a pay cut, goes to show the affinity that exists between him and the club."
Trew added: "I am under no illusions as to just how important and how popular Lee is here. He is an icon of this football club."
